Considering Pediatric Chiropractic Care for your Little One?

We understand you might feel a bit apprehensive. Be assured pediatric adjustments are safe, gentle and specific. Most importantly, chiropractic care can be of great benefit to your child.

When Should you Seek Pediatric Chiropractic Care?

We all know bumps and tumbles are a normal aspect of childhood. Fortunately, young children are often flexible and resilient. However, we believe regular adjustments throughout your little one’s childhood helps them grow strong and pain-free.

Here are a few reasons why parents bring their child to the chiropractor:

+ Neck and back pain

+ Headache

+ Sports Injury

+ Irregular Sleep Patterns

+ Ear Infections

+ Constipation

+ Scoliosis

+ Allergies

+ Asthma

+ ADHD

Benefits of Pediatric Chiropractic Care

Children are in a constant state of play and discovery, which sometimes leads to not only physical but emotional stress, as well. Misalignment of the spine can compound stress. Fortunately, chiropractors can alleviate tense muscles and ensure proper spinal alignment.

Children can experience several benefits of chiropractic care including:

+ Stronger Immune System Support

+ Proper Nervous System Function

+ Better Sleep

+ More Mobility in the Joints or Spine

+ Improved Behavior

+ Increased Brain Development

Certified Care

In addition to graduating from chiropractic college with honors, Dr. Nadia is certified through the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics. To be awarded this certificate, Dr. Nadia completed 200 hours of post-graduate training as well as passed a rigorous examination demonstrating academic and clinical understanding in the care of infants, children, and pregnancy.

How to Prepare

Like any visit to the doctor, chiropractic care may feel intimidating for young children. We believe preparing ahead of time can be helpful for reducing anxiety and ensuring a smooth adjustment. We suggest reviewing the visit procedures (listed below) as well as this video with your child. You might consider showing your child what an adjustment will look like by role-playing using their favorite stuffed animal or doll. Lastly, we also invite them to bring a comfort object to their adjustment.

Visit Procedure

Dr. Nadia will meet with you and your child to learn more about your little one and their medical history. Next, Dr. Nadia will perform a physical exam to determine spinal misalignment or other physical ailments.

If adjustments are needed, Dr. Nadia will use gentle pressure to make corrections. Corrections may involve soft popping noises but not always (soft popping is never the case for infant care). Unless the adjustment is used to treat an injury, the care should be painless. Most children do not experience any discomfort during treatment and are receptive to follow-up visits.
